Formation flying missions have increased their importance thanks to the better performances that can be achieved with a distributed system of satellites.
A recent paper by Alejandro Monteiro Miñan, Francesca Scala and Camilla Colombo proposes an open-loop manoeuvre planning algorithm, to provide the control accelerations for a formation reconfiguration.

The Politecnico di Milano is coordinator of the European CRADLE (Collecting Asteroid-Orbiting Samples) project.
The project, carried out in collaboration with JAXA: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Università degli Studi di Padova, and D-Orbit aims to investigate novel mission concepts for sample collection without having to land or touch down.
