The COMPASS team attended the 2020 AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Virtual Lake Tahoe Conference, held virtually, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, from 9 to 12 August 2020.

The COMPASS team presented its research about “Sustainable Space for Smart Life” to students from Stendhal Elementary School in an interactive lecture aimed to inspire the young scientists of the future.
Davide Menzio, from the COMPASS team, was awarded with the Ermenegildo Zegna Founder’s scholarship and extended his research period at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory until January 2020, where he will increase his “on the field” experience and improve the existing tools with the latest developments of his research on trajectory design and optimization.

The COMPASS team attended the 70th International Astronautical Congress hosted at the Walter E. Convention Center in Washington, D.C., 21-25 October 2019. COMPASS members presented their latest developments in spacecraft trajectory optimisation, modelling and risk analysis for space debris, and orbital dynamics.
The COMPASS team took part in the 2019 European Research and Innovation Days, celebrated in Brussels on 24-26 September. Together with other ERC-funded projects, we met stakeholders and policymakers to stress the importance of scientific research for Europe’s future.
Giacomo Borelli, Alessandro Masat and Matteo Nicoli presented their master thesis work developed within the COMPASS group at the XXV International Congress of the Italian Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIDAA) held at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
