Giacomo Borelli, Alessandro Masat and Matteo Nicoli presented their master thesis work developed within the COMPASS group at the XXV International Congress of the Italian Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIDAA) held at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
Narcís Miguel from the COMPASS team participated in the 5th International Symposium on Solar Sailing (ISSS2019).
Davide Menzio, from the COMPASS team, is carrying out a research period at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he will increase his “on the field” experience and improve the existing tools with the latest developments of his research on trajectory design and optimization.
Camilla Colombo was selected to attend the Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum in Dalian, China as part of the delegation of the ERC.

This is why the annual conference of the European network of science centres and museums (Ecsite) is a must-attend event to all professionals working to engage audiences with science and technology. The European Research Council joined the event for the very first time this year, and they invited the COMPASS team to come along.
The 12th IAA Small Satellites for Earth Observation Symposium took place from 5 to 10 May in Berlin. Cristiano Contini and Camilla Colombo were awarded the second prize as best student paper with their work “Attitude and orbital dynamics fine coupling for high area-to-mass Satellites”. A great success for COMPASS team, PoliMi and DAER!
Last Saturday, May 4, citizens across Europe had a very special appointment at the annual Open Day of the European Institutions. The COMPASS team could not miss this change to show the general public how EU/ERC-funded research changes their lives for the better, approaching visitors to the benefits and challenges of space use and exploration.
The annual Open Day of the European Institutions is a unique opportunity to learn about what the European Union does for its citizens. This year, the COMPASS team will take part in the event at the ERC headquarters in Brussels.
