The COMPASS team member and joint PhD candidate Lincheng Li, attended the 10th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, held on 22-25 July in Brussels, Belgium. The 8th International Conference on Pure and Applied Mathematics was hosted in parallel. Lincheng presented his work on low-thrust station-keeping for satellite constellations at inclined geosynchronous orbits (IGSO), where an analytic procedure is proposed to design the frozen-orbits satellite constellation and low thrust is used to maintain the phases. Since IGSO satellites provide an extension of global navigation satellite systems and all-electric platforms act as the enablers for innovative exploitation of space, our research can lead to a more sustainable use of space.
