ASI SMPAG seminar on NEO deflection strategies

On Tuesday, 11 December 2018, the SMPAG Working Group of the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, organized a seminar on “Advanced Studies on NEO Deflection Strategies”.

During the seminar, Mathieu Petit and Lorenzo Bolsi presented the research work they carried out within the COMPASS project. Mathieu’s talk dealt with the optimal deflection of resonant Near-Earth objects (NEOs) leveraging the B-plane representation, and Lorenzo addressed the use of gravity assist for NEO deflection missions based of kinetic impactors.
