A new journal article led by Thibaut Maury, from the Université de Bordeaux, assesses the environmental impact of Space Debris using the Life Cycle Assessment approach. Camilla Colombo and Mirko Trisolini from the COMPASS team are coauthors of this work.
The COMPASS team attended the 27th International Symposium on Space Flight Dynamics with 3 contributions on space-debris related topics.
COMPASS is contributing to the Space Mission Planning Advisory Group (SMPAG) technical work on asteroid missions for planetary defense.
The ReDSHIFT Final Conference will take place in Florence on March 13 – 14, 2019 at the Auditorium di Santa Apollonia.
Matteo Romano from the COMPASS team and Matteo Lo Sacco attended the ESA NEO and Debris Detection Conference presenting a poster on orbital conjunctions analysis and NEO impact probability computation.
The COMPASS team attended the AAS/AIAA Space Flight Mechanics Meeting with 4 contributions on space-debris related topics.
On 11 December 2018, the ASI SMPAG Working Group and Politecnico di Milano organized a seminar on “Advanced Studies on NEO Deflection Strategies”. Mathieu Petit and Lorenzo Bolsi presented their latest work within the COMPASS project on NEO deflection.
The 2018 NASA SpaceApps Challenge in Milano was a great success! A total of 171 participants worked for almost 48 straight hours to produce some outstanding projects and ideas.
The COMPASS team is taking part to the 69th International Astronautical Congress in Bremen, Germany. Camilla Colombo, Davide Menzio, Stefan Frey and Matteo Romano are attending this year’s IAC to present their works in front of the thousands of researchers from the international community that will be in Bremen from the 1st to the 5th of October.
