What is the best technique to propagate uncertainties of high-altitude, high area-to-mass ratio satellites? Find out the answer in the latest open access paper of PhD candidate Pan Sun, with Camilla Colombo, Mirko Trisolini, and Shuang Li.
How to enhance end-of-life deorbiting by using orbit perturbations? Check this out in the Open Access paper by Simeng Huang, Camilla Colombo, Elisa Maria Alessi, Yang Wang and Zhili Hou
Improving the model of b-plane circles and using it for flyby design: check out the new Open Access paper by Alessandro Masat, Matteo Romano and Camilla Colombo. Find the paper here.
Twice as fast and ten times more precise planetary protection compliance analysis? KS variables ensure so, learn how in the new Open Access paper by Alessandro Masat, Matteo Romano and Camilla Colombo. See the paper here.
New advances in flybys and trajectory design open access! Alessandro Masat and Camilla Colombo introduce the use of the b-plane and the Picard-Chebyshev scheme to efficiently surf complex and chaotic orbital perturbations.

Can we predict the long-term disposal of satellites in highly elliptical orbits? Do they pose a risk at re-entry? Check the latest article in the Journal of Space Safety Engineering of our student Christian Fusaro, with Mirko Trisolini and Camilla Colombo to find out!

Since the start of the space age in 1957, there has been more space debris in orbit than operational satellite, posing a threat to active satellites. Francesca Letizia from ESA Space Debris Office gave a seminar at PoliMi about the debris environment and risk mitigation actions.
Our PostDoc Mirko Trisolini is among the young researchers starting this year a MSCA Individual Fellowship at Politecnico di Milano. He talked about his project with Alumni PoliMi.
COMPASS is taking part in DAER OpenLabs 2019! Come visit our stand this Saturday, November 30, at Politecnico di Milano’s Bovisa campus.
