The Politecnico di Milano is coordinator of the European CRADLE (Collecting Asteroid-Orbiting Samples) project.
The project, carried out in collaboration with JAXA: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Università degli Studi di Padova, and D-Orbit aims to investigate novel mission concepts for sample collection without having to land or touch down.
The 6th European Space Debris modelling, and Remediation workshop took place this week in Milan, organised by @Politecnico di Milano and @Centre National D’Etudes Spatiales (CNES). Since the start of the space age in 1957, there has been more space debris in orbit than operational satellite, posing a threat to active satellites. Francesca Letizia from ESA Space Debris Office gave a seminar at PoliMi about the debris environment and risk mitigation actions.
