On July 10th, our researchers attended the first ISTAR project technical meeting at ISOC, Pratica di Mare, stemming from a collaboration between ASI and Politecnico di Milano. They focused on manoeuvre detection, fragmentation reconstruction, and end-of-life satellite disposal in cislunar space, advancing modern space technology for a safer and sustainable space environment.
This seminar introduces research topics from MIT’s Astrodynamics, Space Robotics, and Controls Lab and the Space Enabled research group. Topics will cover: […]
In a space environment with an ever-growing satellite population, the latest paper by Eduardo Polli, Juan Luis Gonzalo and Camilla Colombo eases studies in the context of Space Situational Awareness, by developing an algorithm capable of assessing the average collision probability between an object subjected to continuous tangential thrust, and tens of thousands of constellations’ satellites, all within milli-seconds. Available here.
Camilla Colombo and Andrea Muciaccia from COMPASS group attended the ESA Space Debris Risk Assessment and Mitigation Analysis Workshop, held in Darmstadt, Germany on 23-24 June 2022. Camilla Colombo presented the ongoing work on risk assessment and mitigation activities at Politecnico di Milano.
Dr. Yang Yang from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology visited the COMPASS team and held a seminar at the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology.
The COMPASS team at the 4th KePASSA workshop, the best place to talk about astrodynamics tool and techniques applied to space situational awareness.
