Davide Menzio’s research stay extension at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Davide Menzio, from the COMPASS team, was awarded with the Ermenegildo Zegna Founder’s scholarship and extended his research period at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory until January 2020, where he will increase his “on the field” experience and improve the existing tools with the latest developments of his research on trajectory design and optimization.

Kindly hosted by Dr. Brandon Jones and Dr. Ryan Russel, Camilla and Stefan gave a seminar at the University of Texas on 13 December. They presented the COMPASS project with a focus on space debris and its modelling.

COMPASS at the first International Orbital Debris Conference

Stefan and Camilla of the COMPASS group attended the first International Orbital Debris Conference (IOC) in Christmassy Sugarland, TX, USA. They presented the new tools their team developed for optimising collision avoidance manoeuvres and estimating the evolution and implications of on-orbit fragmentation clouds.
